It’s actually pretty simple, and the Citroen diagrams really help.

I’ve been on a quest to turn my ’65 Break wiring diagram from the factory into a vector drawing using Adobe Illustrator. This last few days I have been putting the initial finishing touches to get the car running, and I was faced with getting everything hooked up correctly from the coil to the distributor, and ensuring that the plug wires matched the firing order, etc.

So I referred to the diagram and created a separate vector image for it. Note that the positive side of the coil goes to the key switch, and the “negative” side of the coil goes to the points, specifically through the “insulated” hole in the distributor and connecting to the “moving” side of the points. The “stationary” side goes to the ground, and also to the condenser. When the points close, the ground circuit to the distributor is connected, causing the capacitated current to be released through the spark plug wires to the correct plug.

Here is the drawing! Enjoy.
