The 65 Break’s DDC Carburetor in detail.
When rebuilding the carb, I searched online for a great exploded view of the Weber DDCA1 Carb so I could take it apart, but also make sure that when I put all the parts back together, there were none left on the table!
After my recent rebuild, the car idled perfectly. But going on my first drive, I found that as soon as the progression to the main jets occurred, there was…
nothing.
Looking at the diagram, I noticed that I had missed the main jets, which hide behind two threaded plugs that sit at the very front of the carb, conveniently placed where all I had to do is take them out and unscrew the jets, and sure enough, clean the amazing amount of gunk that I had missed, which had accumulated at the bottom of the bowl and even my ultrasonic cleaner had missed (The plugs, however, were spotless because I had definitely cleaned them. Just missed the jets).
Boom. Car runs like a champ.
