When renewing the roof rack bumpers on your ID/DS wagons, be sure to give them a twist. The reason for this is that engineers figured out that putting them on straight makes them whistle at certain speeds. Some bright person figured out that giving them a twist stopped it completely.
Also, when installing, use nice new #4 x 1/2″ stainless screws. Kind of difficult to find the hole. but measure and tape an external gauge against your workbench and then transfer it to your rubber when installed.
Also install with soapy water or you’ll fight it forever.
